Episode III: Character Bios |
I wrote these bios from my own head using several resources, mainly the Visual Dictionaries and the movies themselves. The information mentioned is very spoilery for the said movie so read at your own discretion. DO NOT duplicate this information without my consent.

Senator Padme Amidala - still a Senator of the new republic and secretly married to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Padme has been hiding her secret pregnancy from as many as she can. When Anakin returns she tells him the good news and wants to return to Naboo where they can grow their family in peace and quiet. But fate as other things in store for her when Anakin has visions of her dying in childbirth. Padme watches as Anakin turns to the dark side and the Republic becomes a Galactic Empire under the rule of the hideously disfigured Palpatine. Not believing Obi-Wan when he tells her of what Anakin has done she confronts Anakin on Mustafar, unwittingly bringing Obi-Wan along. Anakin force chokes her thinking she has turned against him. Obi-Wan takes Padme to Bail Organa's ship where she is given expert medical attention but she has lost the will to live, in her dying moments she gives her twins names, Luke and Leia. She is taken home and buried on Naboo, her belly disguised to say that she is still pregnant. |

C-3PO - now nice and golden, C-3PO is Padme's personal protocol droid who follows her everywhere and knows about Anakin. He goes with her to Mustafar, helping her pilot the ship. When Padme dies he is taken to Alderaan and gets his memory wiped. |

Commander Cody - leader of a contingent of the Clone Troopers, it is Commander Cody that rescues Obi-Wan's lightsabre and hands it back tot he Jedi after Grievous has been killed. Cody looks and sounds remarkably like the clone template and shouldn't be seen as being just a unit but as a human being. He is the one that orders Obi-Wan's death when Order 66 comes through. |

Count Dooku - still leader of the Separatist group, Dooku sets up an elaborate trap in capturing Chancellor Palpatine using his trained assassin General Grievous. Dooku challenges Obi-Wan and Anakin and gets the hot end of Anakin's lightsabre as Palpatine betrays his apprentice by telling Anakin to kill him. |

General Grievous - part alien, mostly droid, Grievous is as deadly as he looks. He is cunning, devious and very smart. If he sees a chance of winning he will fight, else he will flee to fight another day. He takes on Obi-Wan with ease and is only slain by the Jedi's luck of finding his own blaster. Grievous likes hunting down Jedi and killing them for sport and has many lightsabres as trophies in his cloak. More on Grievous |

Jedi - Generals and fighters in many of the Republic battles the Jedi are betrayed by Palpatine once he is revealed to be a Jedi master, most of the Jedi are killed by the Clone Troopers in 'Order 66' or by Anakin Skywalker at the Jedi Temple. Notable Jedi include Agen Kolar, Kit Fitso and Saesee Tin who are killed by Palpatine when they go to arrest him, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Kloon, Barriss Offee, Aalya Secura, Shaak Ti and Stass Allie who are all killed by the Order by the troops they were leading. The fate of Luminara Unduli is unknown. Not even the Padawans or Younglings survived. The Jedi order has been ripped apart. |

Obi-Wan Kenobi - General Kenobi, now a member of the Jedi Council and deeply respected amongst his peers and the clone troopers alike. He has fought in many battles and with Anakin Skywalker, his former apprentice rescued Palpatine from the clutches of Count Dooku and General Grievous. But Obi-Wan is happy to let Anakin play with the Senators, preferring to consult with the Jedi Masters at the temple. Obi-Wan concedes when Palpatine requests Anakin's presence on the council and tells Anakin the assignment to be Palpatine's spy. He realises that Anakin is having conflicting issues but has to leave to try and find Grievous. Once he finds him, Obi-Wan quickly engages the general and defeats him (with a primitive weapon to him) but becomes victim to Order 66. He manages to escape with his life and joins Yoda and Senator Organa, together they return to Coruscant where Obi-Wan learns that it was Anakin that has turned to the dark side and killed the Jedi. Obi-Wan goes to Padme to find out where Anakin is, telling her the news, he stows aboard her ship when she leaves. On Mustafar he confronts Anakin and after a heated duel manages to defeat him. He doesn't kill Anakin, leaving instead to his fury and hate, taking the lightsabre with him. Obi-Wan tries to help Padme, but she gives up her life and the Jedi Master takes baby Luke to Tatoonine, taking up his life on the desert planet. |

Bail Organa - Senator from Alderaan, he is part of the Loyalists and becomes deeply involved in the Jedi when he hears about Order 66. He quickly rescues Yoda and Obi-Wan before helping them back to Coruscant to help other Jedi. He risks all to help the Jedi believing that the events that have happened are detrimental to all. Padme cautions him against acting against the Empire and this leads to him becoming an integral part of the Rebel Alliance in the later episodes. He and his wife Breha are childless and take Leia to raise as their own. |

Chancellor Palpatine - shows his true face for the first time, he winds up his plans, getting Anakin into the Jedi Council, worming his way into the young Jedi's mind, with promises of how to keep Padme from dying. Anakin, slowly realises that Palpatine is the Dark Lord of the Sith and 'dobs' him in only for Palpatine to kill 3 Jedi sword masters with ease before taking on Mace. His own powers are turned against him when Mace rebounds his Force lightening. Palpatine convinces Anakin to help him against Mace, cutting off his hand so that Palpatine could destroy the Master. Palpatine then announces that he has started a new galactic empire, with himself as Emperor and declares all Jedi's enemies, telling his new apprentice, Lord Vader to go and kill all the Jedi in the temple. |

R2-D2 - the cute little protocol droid shows his worth, taking on buzz droids, super battle droids and battle droids alike. He even takes on Grievous's guards and becomes the integral part to play in the rescue of Palpatine. Where would Anakin and Obi-Wan be without him? In the end he is taken along with C-3PO to Alderaan, under the care of Bail Organa. It is unknown if his memory was wiped along with 3POs. |

Republic Senators - throughout the war the senators have been giving Palpatine more and more power, it is too busy modifying things to suit that it doesn't see how skewed it has become. A loyal group of senators see that this is occurring and try to convince all that peaceful solutions need to be found. Some notable senators include Chi Eekway, Giddean Danu and Mon Mothma. It was Mon Mothma and Bail Organa that drew up the Petition of Two Thousand. They both want to get Padme Amidala into their fold. |

Separatists - lead by Count Dooku then General Grievous the council consists of many members: Wat Tambor, Passel Argente, Po Nudo, San Hill, Archduke Poggle the Lesser, Rune Haako, Nute Gunray and Shu Mai. Their actions are characterised by developing armies, weapons and warships against the Republic's law. The Separatists are moved to Mustafar where they are all slaughtered by Darth Vader. |

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader - by far the character the story is all about, he starts off rescuing Palpatine but he kills Dooku at the insistence of Palpatine. He learns that Padme is pregnant and then has nightmares that consume him of her death, he gets very possessive and lets the dark side start to seep in even more. Palpatine makes Anakin his personal adviser on the council but Anakin is not given the rank of Master and is asked to spy on the Chancellor. Confused and abused Anakin lets Palpatine get his claws deeper and deeper into him, with stories of cheating death. Anakin finds out that Palpatine is the Darth Lord of the Sith that they had been hunting and goes and tells Mace, he wants to help but Mace tells him to stay. For a time Anakin obeys the Jedi Master but he quickly goes to Palpatine and helps kill Mace. It is then and there that Anakin has truly fallen and is given a new persona, Darth Vader. As Darth Vader, Anakin kills all those Jedi at the temple, not even sparing the younglings. He is then sent to Mustafar to kill the Separatists, which he does with ease, stopping the war completely, allowing the Galactic Empire to start. When Padme comes to confront him he has truly gone power hungry and become a different person, "Don't you turn against me!" He feels that everyone hates him and that who ever is not with him is against him. He battles with his old Jedi Master Obi-Wan and even when lying on the hot ash, his legs and arms cut off he is consumed by hate, "I hate you!'" is the last thing he screams to Obi-Wan. Palpatine finds the charred remains and gives Vader back his life, in a large black mechanoid suit. |

Skywalker Twins - born on a medical table to a dying mother, the twins Luke and Leia are hidden from their families, Padme's family still believing that Padme was pregnant at time to death to thwart Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Luke is taken back to Tatoonine, to live with his aunt and uncle, Owen and Beru Lars. Whilst Leia is taken to Alderaan to be brought up by Breha and Bail Organa. |

Mace Windu - Jedi Master, one of the most highly respected Jedi alive. He is cunning, smart but highly distrustful of Anakin Skywalker. His views and methods are constantly changing with the times, doing what he must to stop the Sith from taking over the galaxy once more. In turmoil, he takes on Palpatine and nearly defeats him, only to be stopped by Anakin and then killed by Palpatine. But through till the end, Mace was a loyal Jedi to the Force, he was deeply disturbed by the waning of the Force and the role the Jedi had been forced to take, but he would do anything to stop the Sith from ruling. |

Yoda - brave, he goes to Kashyyyk to help the Wookies in their battle against the Separatists. It is here that he feels the deaths of Mace and the other Jedi and the rise of the Sith. When the two clone troopers try to kill him Yoda lops off their heads and quickly leaves Kashyyyk, meeting up with Bail Organa. With Obi-Wan he goes to Coruscant to stop the Jedi message, instead warning Jedi away, he knows it was Anakin that did it, that Anakin has now turned to the dark side. Yoda tells Obi-Wan to confront the dark lord whilst he goes to challenge Palpatine. But Palpatine proves too strong and Yoda goes into exile. |
