This is the movie that got me interested in Mortal Kombat. I liked it
so much because it was funny (Johnny Cage was a crack up) it had good
fight sequences and really kewl looking characters. The part where Shang
Tsung's face mummifies grossed me out but then I grew to love it, it
looks so kewl. My favourite character in the movie was always Reptile,
and that was the best fight sequence in any of the movies or TV show.

What happens: Liu Kang decides to avenge his brother and enter Mortal
Kombat representing the Temple of Light, there he meets Raydn, the
protector of earth realm, who sees Liu as our only hope. Shang Tsung
gathers two more warriors of earth to enter Mortal Kombat, Johnny Cage
an actor who is afraid of being seen as a fake and Sonya Blade a cop who
seeks vengeance on Underworld Lord, Kano.
Once there the three learn that they are earth's only hope and they seek to win Mortal Kombat. A series of interesting fights occur with characters such as Scorpion, Kitana, Goro and Sub Zero. Upon Johnny Cage's victory over Goro, Shang Tsung takes Sonya to Outworld where Raydn can't follow, leaving them up to the mercy of new ally, Kitana. Liu battles her protector, Reptile (in an excellent fight sequence) before he goes and challenges Shang Tsung.
The movie is fast paced, interesting, with a great story line that left me yearning for more, so much more I bought the soundtrack (which is very good mind you - the score and the soundtrack) Watch it, you'll enjoy it.
